The value proposition? I checked Linus videos on these and he is right that Corsair has entered the competitive marketplace against their own system builders.

It is still crazy expensive. Also, IIRC, when it comes to RMA you need to send the whole system back.

Nice, but I can build something along those lines for a lot less. Let's face it, there is still only one proper gaming platform, and that is the PC.

Yeah but most gamers these days are infidels, you know the kind who can't change a light bulb, its for them that these are built.

This is a PC. I don't follow.
It is a step away from PC into the realm of consoles. In my opinion at least. If they put in a gaming/media only OS it would pretty much be regarded as a console. Or is my thinking skewed ?

I disagree it is still a PC, whats the difference between this and a gaming laptop?

Not everyone who wants to game on PC, necessarily knows all that much about PCs and this suits them. There is also the market segment of people who don't have the inclination to build their own systems.

Think the day that you lose the need and the ability to setup games the way you like them, with a lack of graphics and or remapping options, that'll be the day that PC's are the same as consoles, this is already happening in a lot of games because they are console ports, but as always gamers figure out how to remove the limitations.

Most pc games still want to pick their hardware even if they aren't building it themselves.
Most pc games are very knowledgeable when it comes to what goes in their box.

People saying that these are consoles  You guys and gals do know what system building is, right? Though these are the more specialised type which not every Tom, Dick and Harry can DIY, it comes with an SLA (and above standard warranty).

Because well, you know,

- Digital Storm
- Maingear
- Alienware
- AVADirect
- Falcon Northwest
- iBuyPower
- CyberPowerPC
- OriginPC
- Velocity Micro
- Xidas

and then, you can also now add NZXT (https://www.letsbld.com/) and Corsair which is competing directly against their own system building vendors.

Just to let you know, system building is older than most know their way around a PC.
