Cost of S4 screen replacement

HI

I already had my two free replacements, and want to find out whether it is worth it (cost wise) to replace 3rd time, or rather get new phone. The Samsung repair center refuses to give me a cost estimate for the screen replacement telephonically, and want me to go to them before giving cost.

does anyone know what this typically costs?

Also, does the whole screen need to be replaced , or only the glass. On mine it seems only the glass is cracked.

thanks

The cheapest I could replace mine for was R2150 and that was when my phone was 6 months old. My mother in law bought it in Thailand and didn't know about the ADH so I had to replace the screen from my pocket.

At this stage the value of that phone is probably around there anyway so you might as well get a new one.

get yourself one of those indestructible duel sim phones from CAT.

because one of three things are true.
you are WAY too clumsy.
you do not take care of your things, because they were paid for by someone else, in wich case mommy/daddy needs to cut you off so you can learn a lesson
you are seriously unlucky.

but I do agree, just get a new phone, get an oterbox cover, and for the love of all that is holy stay away from the slippery phones, like the glass back Sony or S6, the polished metal of A5, HTC and apple.

Got my iPhone repaired here:

Cost was R1299 for the iPhone 5S. The glass and touchpanel are fused together so they had to replaced the entire thing. So I thought the price was reasonable, it took 2 hours and it looks like new.

Agree entirely.
There's a 4th option though and that's using the ADH replacement for superficial scratches rather than actual damage. (Saw someone on the forum a few weeks ago wanting to make an ADH claim due to a bezel with a few bumps on it with ZERO impairment in phone functionality). They figure just cuz it's free they can abuse it.

That's not abusing the system at all. ADH is built into the purchase price I can assure you, just like a vehicle service plan.

When I still had my S4 the silver bezel was peeling. Local repair agents said I needed a broken screen first to get the bezel changed as it comes with a new screen. When I asked if I should smash it and then come back, they said yes.

Sold the phone with 2x ADH instead and let the new owner make the decision. Point is, ai had every intention of smashing it and handing it in until I sold it as I effectively owned 2 free screen changes.
