Hello everybody,

Check out this exciting news if you visit our online store today or tomorrow

Yesterday was a ground breaking day for us. The response we got from mybroadband users was massive, better than any other marketing campaign we have every done. We had the most visits with the lowest bounce rate ever.

So we think it is time to celebrate.

For today (16/10/2012) & Tomorrow (17/10/2012) all our HP & Dell Laptop & Desktop products will be sold at our cost price.

Please note for this we have to disable the credit card gateway so for this next 48 hours we will only be accepting EFT’s

Hi,

Due to the fact that we are selling these items at cost price it is a problem to accept credit card payments on them as we pay commission on the transactions. Which means we will be losing money.

However if there is another product which you wish to buy which is not on sale we can make a cc payment arrangement.

So your not honoring your CC merchant agreement then by not being prepared to accept CC transactions ...

Would be pointless for them to charge cost, and then add the CC function on their site. They would be losing money.

Online prices with EFT can have a "discount". They will not be charging "More" if you opt for the credit card function, just the "proper" price.

Don't care your still being unethical and going against a legal agreement you have with your CC provider. You got a lot to learn about business.

I actually dont know where you are going with this.... We are under no obligation to use our CC provider, which is also quite a bold statement to make considering you dont not know what the contents of our agreement with them stipulates.:whistling:

And why would it not be good business practice to run a promotion for two days? I think if you look at the market in general you will find that all companies run promotions just like this from time to time.

Dont get where you anger is coming from? Please explain and I would be happy to chat to you about it.

-All- CC terms and conditions would state that you don't discriminate against CC purchases, it's pretty fundamental to the agreement so it's not a bold statement. I understand your business requirements (selling things at cost) but I think the point here is that to exclude CC purchases "holisbolis" would be against your CC agreement. There are other ways to run the promotion, such as offering it at Rx, and including discounts to persons paying by cash or EFT (so that the total price payable is the cost price) whereas CC users would not be entitled to the discount.

And by the way just ignore these assho*** which seem to try and talk down your wonderful promotion ! I can say that I SCORED today!

For someone with two posts (who until proven otherwise is deemed to be spam), your forum eqituette is appalling. Anyone has the right to call out, on an open forum, someone pushing an unethical business practice.

No they are not.

The terms state you may not offer discounts for other payments or charge more for cards. Nowhere does it state that they may not disable the functionality on their site. They could always include the card charges (bad example - R5000 product, If on R5500 the card charges are R500 they will meet at cost. Thus they could sell/advertise at R5500 and still claim it to be cost.) Then let everyone pay that.

I have been typing this long reply to all of this. However there is no need for it!

All I will say is again thank you to everyone who supported us today, and we look forward to your returning visits.

Yes they are. Once you sign up for Visa/Mastercard you cannot refuse to accept them. The site clearly shows the logo's, so they must accept or face the possibility of a complaint being lodged.

They haven't stopped accepting CCs, and they aren't REFUSING to take them.
They are just temporarily disabling the CC payment option on their site in order to offer us a 2-day cost-price special. The rep has also already said that if you want to buy something using CC, contact them and they will make a plan.

@ Amia Rep: The banner on your front page has hyperactivity syndrome. It scrolls too fast. Best way to work out the ideal scroll timing is to read the text aloud. If you can't read the whole banner's text before it scrolls away, it's going too fast. :)

If the plan is a higher price than the "special" price then they are breaking their credit card agreement.

The usual crap. A dealer offers a special and all the others dealers (yes, that is what I am assuming) on here start nitpicking at everything in an attempt to discredit them. If you want the business yourselves then come forward with some deals. Thanks.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your feedback - I will certain make sure we extend the banner display time as it is important for our customers to read the info at hand.

As a general question - do you guys think we should offers Canon Digital Camera's at cost as part of this promotion tomorrow?
