Anyone else having a problem where your iburst will work awesomely for like and hour 2 hours, then it just dies... you can try repeatedly to re-connect and it just says "cannot get ip"

but, you unplug it, plug it back in and voila, connected as soons it gets a signal...

and 1 - 2 hours later... starts all over again...

any ideas?

I used to get something like that when I disabled my network connection by mistake. if you are on windows remember that with Iburst you get two connections the one for the internet and the network, make sure that You do not disable the network connection and you dont have some kind of software that is disabling the connection, and normally if that happens Iburts will come up with a message "cant maintain connection" or something like that.

Also Make sure that your username and passwords, Mtu and the likes are all correct. Are you on the network or is it a stand alone computer?

Can you give details of your current setup and the parts used. and lastly... did you try the iburst helpline?

Running my iburst through a Linksys router... been working fine for months and two days ago it started this crap... have checked everything and it's all working as it has been for ages... just seems the iBurst modem falls outta sync or something and when you reboot it, it comes right...

or it just could be iburst forgetting that they're an isp

this is something I came accross... are you connecting to you router wirelessly?

It could be a numb er of things actually.

First off, is the modem sync light on?

Secondly, have you added the DNS IPs to the router?

Third, to rule out some network issue, set the IP manually on the computer. And make sure it is in the same IP range as the router.

So if the router has an IP: 192.168.0.1, then add set the IP of the computer manually to this:

IP: 192.168.0.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS1: (type whatever your ISP suggests)
DNS2: (type whatever your ISP suggests)

As I said, just make sure you also add the DNS IPs in the router, and make sure the router and the computer are in the same IP range 192.168.0.X or whatever.

I hope that helps......

am directly connected to the router... the pc and the router communicate perfectly... it's just the iburst that keeps dropping out... my network works brilliantly...

then try borrowing a modem and try it... the last person who had that kind of a problem ended up replacing the modem and all was fine...... Hope that works.

I'm being plaqued by the same problem, I use a Gigabyte wireless broudband router. I enabled dial on demand and that seemed to sort out my problem.

If you're in the wonderboom area, they have had serious problems with the tower. Should be sorted out today.. ;)

think someone needs to pop into wbs with some flow-charts and bright colourful pictures and let iBurst know what an ISP does...
