Some flags have led to enslavement and genocide - try waving a swastika some places. It's a piece of cloth but the symbol means something.

Malema could make a new song tomorrow, point is the original song is the one that cuts deep and has a history, not the message. Same as with the flag, we can wave a 100 flags, but certain flags mean different things.

If Afriforum are able to take it on appeal, hopefully they'll appoint counsel who will be a bit more compelling in their arguments.

You don't get to make a new case on appeal, they'll have to argue the merits of the ruling.

Is there no legal precedent wrt the song in previous court rulings, could have sworn there were previous cases where it was either banned or ruled as hate speech. Can't google now.
