Court rejects TikTok's bid to delay US ban from January

TikTok faces a US ban next month after an appeals court declined to pause the measure, which takes effect if the popular video-sharing app isn’t sold by its China-based parent ByteDance Ltd.

The company’s request for the pause came after a federal appeals court panel in Washington upheld a law that bans the social media platform in the US unless ByteDance divests itself of the app by 19 January 2024.

In Trump's long question-answering session for the press yesterday, he was queried about this and mentioned he's open minded about its outcome (now). Apparently the large youth group that voted for him has made him see Tiktok more favourably, for their sake.

That to me sounds like Trumpy is caught in a catch 22 situation. Does he risk coming across as not taking the US's govt stance on security issues against China specifically coz that's what it is & rather appease the youth. Me thinks Trump will try manage this but I do not see him going against the ban.

He will let the ban go ahead, then blame it all on Biden.
