Google should just sue the hell out of Apple for the slide down function for notifications.

Is Apple stopping people from competing with them or just not willing to license knock-offs?

However it is adorable that people still think that there are some corporations that are good and some that are evil. This is how the game is played at that level. Feel free to pick a side and cheer or boo from the sidelines but don't pretend any of them have some kind of moral superiority.

I am of the thought that everything is a remix and the only way to spark innovation is to allow people to use things/idea from the past even if its at a set fee. For me its not about morals but on how we advance as a human race. Trying your hardest to prevent other people from using tech goes directly against that view, and Apple for whatever reason is a company that blocks innovation plain and simple. So for me they are and will be idiots or "evil" and I do not like the way they go about it.

I am sure they will once they get it approved. The question is just will they use it to block or get money, if its to block they will fall under the same category in my book as Apple. If they on the other hand claim licence fees then I have less of a problem with them.

I doubt if Google will ever sue, not in their culture.

But if they do, it would be to drive a point home and show the world what a huge patent troll Apple really is.

Mind you, last I heard Apple is trying to patent the air that we breathe.....

I think your view of the current round of patent disputes is too simplistic.

Ok then those suits they filled recently with Motorola's patents must be a dream. FRAND patents no less.

It's to protect themselves against the Apple troll, not to attack other companies with.

They're suing Microsoft over the XBox to protect themselves from Apple. Righto.

Anyone suing Microsoft is performing a good dead. :D

Im sure it will have merit if Google decides to sue.

Most probably Microsoft trying to hide Google Search in the web browser, like they do with IE9.
