Hi there

I need some information regarding possible wireless connectivity at Tsitsikamma Toll Plaza.

Background : the current telkom line is not up to standard, and gives problems when trying to dial remotely in or transfer files.

The solution would be to install a wireless solution, as Telkom is not going to replace their cable, and we need a solution in place as soon as possible.

Can MTN give us good coverage 24x7 at a good price?

Requirements

We are looking at a minimum line speed of 128k to start off with, preferably uncapped and unshaped, with a static public IP which is accessible from anywhere.

We must be able to access the plaza remotely and securely with either VPN or remote desktop, from a dial-up line or ADSL line.

The line should also be online 24x7 as we are liable for penalties should daily data files not be transferred.

Both lines will need local Internet access, and not overseas Internet access.

Thanking you in advance

I've got the same problem here...

I have a comapny in Witelsbos, with the main office on site. Another office in Joubertina, and then and admin office in Mosselbay.

I need the 3 to be connected with each other, as well as be able to serve public webpages and serve the company email from the intranet to public access.

Telkom sucks here ( technicians work day and night on lines, just to disconnect some more) Vodacom, i am sorry to say, has somehow mixed my account with the premier of the western cape, and in the end i had a huge dispute, still fighting that one...

MTN is available most of the time, don't mind the downtime once in a while.

The speed on the other hand is a problem, still working in stone age here... GPRS

MTN however is a bit confused... Many customers want to host their own websites, wich for obvious reasons must be publicly available, however helpdesk just tell's you to subscribe for VPN and thats that.

VPN is just a more secure APN, we want an open VPN, something more relaxed, with either static or dynamic IP.

With dynamic IP you can still make use of an updater to update your IP with your NS Host.

Is there anyone @ MTN that can help, we are in the rural area of the country, Telkom don't foresee any better service for the next 4 years, with DSL not even an option here for the far future.

I am not the only one with internet requirements or problems, here are alot of customers willing to take MTN as a service provider.

Can MTN serve them????
