Covid-19 online vaccine registrations open for all South Africans over 60

South Africans who want to receive a Covid-19 vaccine and are over the age of 60 can now registered through the electronic vaccination data system (EVDS).

The Department of Health’s chief director, Dr Lesley Bamford said only people who registered on the system will be vaccinated. People without Internet access will be assisted with their registration.

The information asked for is Name, Surname, ID, cell number, Town and area where you live (address is optional), Medical Aid number if one is one medical aid. None of this I would consider to be private information.

This information is NOT being asked for. Maybe it depends on whether one is a health care worker, care giver, etc.

It is simple, straight forward, but asks that some information like cell number is entered twice, checking for correctness. It will take 5 to 10 minutes.
