you are on the side of doing exactly what the popular opinion is ... yet we lack lateral thinking? do you see the irony there?
If you think I got the jab because it's cool, you're sorely mistaken. I was hesitant for a long time until data started coming out, once I saw the figures and spoke to people who actually are researchers in the field, I made an informed decision. Not one decided by Tucker Carlson.

refer to the title of this thread, it is shyte like that which gets people annoyed

Guy, you really lack lateral thinking. Are you going to catch diabetes, the need for a coronary bypass from standing in a queue? It might be a mere 2%, but that number is currently 4.16M, if you want to potentially join the statistic go ahead, nobody is stopping you. You can tell us how big man you are when you're stuck on a ventilator gasping for air.

It's a 2% mortality rate as per is admission.

If I give you 50 jelly tots and told you 1 of those will kill you, you won't eat a jelly tot.

What these idiots also fail to understand, is even if Covid doesn't kill you, it can seriously cripple you. This fact is conveniently ignored when these anti-vaxxers spout their nonsense.

no that argument is one you just conjured all by yourself

if you go back and read you'd see I merely pointed out the irony of following popular opinion (rightly or wrongly) and accusing others of not thinking laterally

a sheep doesn't get to pretend it is thinking laterally, the sheep might have stumbled upon the correct course of action regardless however
I don't get my information from armchair specialists thanks, that's your domain.

this "mandatory" BS is highly unlikely to happen imo

the first world is already facing protests against this, by the time we have high enough numbers to even think about it, the first world will already have decided against forcing people

add to that the data being collected as those first world countries complete huge vaccine rollouts and it comes down to: if the vaccine works only to protect the one vaxxed, the rest do not pose any risk to them, only to themselves, my employer has no business making my risk call for me

Exactly. Just look at France. Macron is in deep trouble if he goes ahead this (along with his many other troubles) considering elections are next year in France.

No, they validated it for official use, they did not validate the claims.

For example the EU and the FDA do not recognize the Chinese vaccine as a valid immunization.

Your comprehension skills do show off your (lack of) talents quite well.
I give up. I don't give in, I did, however find an image that sums up your intellectual ability (if one could drown out how loudly you shout about it)

CountryExcess COVID-19 deathsReported COVID-19 deaths
South Africa161,50454,746
Note that's including lockdown, masks, travel restrictions, people actually testing, etc.
So 0.2% despite all the measurements and stuff in South Africa, and this was before the recent waves and it's still ongoing.

Taking Bulgaria stats, they believe it a complete hoax etc., government is inept there:
"Table 2. The 20 countries with the highest death rates due to COVID-19 (deaths per 100,000), March 2020 to May 2021"
CountryExcess COVID-19 death rateReported COVID-19 death rate
Azerbaijan672.746.3
Bosnia and Herzegovina601.1268.3
Bulgaria559.9245.5

So 0.6%, note they also had lockdowns etc., masks issue. They did not have as much travel etc. as usual.

Just saying that vaccines in the past have been pulled for less, now thousands is acceptable. Whatever makes you happy though.

And those long term side effects, well we just don't know.
No we don't, but we do know the immediate effects of covid, each must decide for themselves what is acceptable risk. I will definitely want all my workers to be vaccinated, far more effective than temperature at the door and hand sanitizing.

You have a 1 in 101 chance of being in a car accident in SA everytime you start the engine and hop on the road(2010 stats) .... if I gave you 101 jelly tots and told you 1 will kill you, you won't eat a jelly tot :giggle:

And that is why seat belts and airbags and millions of *insert currency* has been poured into making them as safe as possible.

so this previous statement below was BS, you want me to face more consequences than just to my health ... classy
You're the anti-vaxxer, I wish no ill on anyone. But if you want to buy into the bullshit about vaccines, you deal with the potential consequences. I never made the rules, natural selection did.

mandating vaccines by law is not in the same universe as "natural selection"

I, along with my entire family, have been vaccinated with every vaccine recommended by government and healthcare practitioners for early childhood prevention of common diseases etc

how is that anti-vax?

We don't know the long term consequences THAT is the issue. You take your potential ticking time-bomb, I'll wait and see.
