Alright, I put in a new motherboard. The motherboards better, contains a Celeron as compared to the Pentium 1 that was in it before.

I hook in everything I need, the HD, the DVD-rom, the GFX Card, the power supply, and the tower.

I start it up fully expecting it to work, but a error message comes up, "CPU Unworkable or Broken enter Soft Menu"

I assume that means set up, when I go into setup there's not much I can do because all the settings are correct from my view.

Now it does detect the DVD-rom, but it doesn't detect the second IDE or the HD I have in.

What's the problem?

Sounds to me like the Celeron CPU is not supported by the motherboard. I recommend that you ascertain the model number of the board and check the manufacturers site for a Supported CPU List. You may find that a bios upgrade is necessary to support "newer" cpu's.

the Celeron came with the motherboard originally and I took it out because it was a bit more firepower than I needed for the CPU, it did work perfect with the CPU beforehand.

How do I find the type of celeron?(the motherboard came in a computer that was bought in 99/00 and it was recently given to me because the owner decided to upgrade)

right socket alone does'nt always help.
I recently thru out an old board due to a fact that it could not pick up my newly aquired P4-2.8Ghz cpu. On the old board it only ran at 1.6Ghz.

Anyways, busy getting toghether a new gaming machine.
