The world doesn't deal in 'could haves' Killa. All South African cricket supporters should know that truism after the 1999 World Cup Semi-Final :p

Actually if we are going to be argumentative then let me state that the "real world" (and by that I do not mean record books etc which will state results only) does often deal in "could haves". I have English friends who are not gloating nearly as much as I would have expected them to as they are fully aware that South Africa has been the dominant team in three out of the four test matches... yes, they will gleefully point out that they are 1-0 up but steer well clear of saying they are the better team.

I must agree with Lance, i also suspected at the time the Steyn move just just some last minute mind games.

It was fairly clear to me that initially Smith was holding out for Boucher to get his 100. When Boucher failed it was time for some mind games. The English had clearly also decided that Boucher's wicket, or him reaching 100, would mean it is time for them to bat. This view was held by everyone watching. When Steyn then came walking out it would have thrown the English.
Right so Boucher was slowly working his way to 100, totally in control, then gets out playing a rash shot 5 short and about 2-3 overs sooner than the English openers would have thought the declaration would have come and they would be batting.

Steyn coming out to bat wasn't the phsycological edge. Boucher getting out for 95 was.

Oh dear here we go again...

Professional teams are hardly going to be thrown by such 'mind games'. These days teams have sports psychologists to deal with issues such as these and other such mental games. Also it's not as if this hasn't happened elsewhere when England have played, I'm sure they are well aware of this tactic by now.

The only way to get a team out is to bowl well. It's not a secret formula or anything ;)

not true at all, team psychologists try to establish flow in the team, the desire to achieve no matter what the consequences type of feeling, most of us had that. Cricket is a big mind game, players like Ian Bishop and Shane Warne were known for outsmarting their fellow players... tricking them into playing the shots and areas,

Yes by bowling to them.

My word, Broad is such a bloody cheater. This is the 3rd time in the series he has been reviewed and they've all been blatantly out. Indicating that it was his arm guard when clearly it hit his gloves

Looks like England is giving up on this game to be honest...

Well there we are.

Don't you think it would've been a bit disappointing going to The Wanderers today? I always enjoy going when it's the last two days and the test is still up in the air. The tension and the excitement would really have been lacking knowing your team is going to win.

Anyway, well done SA. It should've been 3-1, but now India, on the subcontinent will be the real challenge!

A strong performance and a comprehensive win for SA. This has been a test series we have dominated. England can be grateful and lucky to leave with a drawn series in the bag..

My word our bowlers were on fire! Wd SA! Wonder what donald has to say

Looking forward to india then the debate about the best can be laid to rest. The bowlers won't be as effective on those batting pitches, batsmen will hafta carry us. Good thing tho is that at the mo almost anyone in the lineup til boucher can carry the batting. Sad to say but i think prince might just get the chop, that or he goes back into the middle order but thats a headache left for craig matthews and his buddies

Btw we toured there in 2008, when the indians coming here?
