LOL church, of course england got lucky. Even they know it dude.

Onions is the only reason england did not lose the series 3-1. Then they drop him in the final test hahahah.

Guy's, 2 times SA could not bowl out a tail ender batsman, the first time i would say that it was luck and onions just managed to survive, but 2 times c'mon.

But i do see your logic though,AKA damage control. trying to make a draw look like a victory.

None the less, well done to SA for winning the last test to equal the series.

Well done to the boys squaring the series. Its better than losing but still disappointing that they feel to deliver the knockout blows needed at centurion and cape town. Still the stats will show that SA won more sessions than england did in this series and except for Durban were the better side. England showed lots of fight so credit to them.

they are both in form, kallis will lose a lot of pace, he already did, it is natural, but shouldn't we be building up to the WC already,? well they be able to be that good then, are there enough good all round youngsters to take his place in the country?... not so sure about that. There are a few good keepers though, maybe not at the boucher level yet, but they can get there.

There are no quality all round youngsters coming through currently. The best are parnell and mcclaren but no batting allrounder. Lots of quality young batsmen and a few bowlers but the batting all rounder and spinner is a worry.

And this from a guy who supports a team that doesn't just try to make a draw look like a victory but celebrates it as such! ;) On two occasions!

The results may well reflect a 1-1 draw but anyone with knowledge of cricket knows that South Africa were on top for three out of the four tests.

Well done to the bowling for actually pitching up this time, Steyn showed why he's No.1

but then again England looked like they where already thinking about wednesdays Liverpool vs Tottenham game.

Mickey sounded like he was relieved because he just saved his job, though he should still be fired

Come now Lance, i'm annoyed and dissapointed that this test was a draw, England had the upperhand going into the last test 1 up and should have taken it like they did with the ODI's.

Its the SA supporters who are drumming their chests as if it was a world class series win.

Anyway i know how you guys feel.

The exact oppesite happend with the B&I lions rugby tour, the first test the lions crossed the line 4 times but did not finish off, the second test O gara in the last minute gave away a stupid penalty to put SA infront and well, the last test SA got well beaten.

So am i correct in saying that the Bokke got lucky, and the Lions should have won the series, considering they did play the better rugby?

The Lions are so crap that there probably won't be another Lions tour.
What's the question again?

Regardless of fact that they manage to get a test series draw, it was tougher than it should've been. Hoping the clawing back makes them better for the coming tour and not too much later the Pro20Wc coming.. it's time SA wins something. The last two competitions Sa's performance was like in this tour.. okish but not good thankfully this time round the competition is mid way in season

Here is a picture for you... could this be an image taken after hitting the winning runs in a test? Nope, I'm afraid not. This is the celebration after DRAWING the 3rd test! ;)

That pic almost makes Langer and Hayden look like a couple of straight guys.

Almost...

By drawing the 3rd test, it still meant that England go into the final test 1 up and not all square, how can you not see that as being a huge advantage for a team?

The temptation was there to add a comment something along those lines! ;) I was not sure if it was indeed a celebration or just an expression of love! :D

So England are allowed to celebrate a draw but South Africa aren't? Fair enough. Although in saying that I think a little read through this particular thread will show that most South Africans were not at all satisfied with a draw.

I'll be sure to have a look for proof of the celebrations after the first test too.... ;)

Lance,Alf and Nerf, we can sit here all day trying to spin this how we see fit.

So here is the breakdown on what really went down over the last 2 months:

T20: draw
ODI: England
TESTS: draw

Lol here's one of Onions celebrating after managing to draw the first test.

111744.jpg

Graham Onions punches the air after seeing out the last over to secure England a draw, South Africa v England, 1st Test, Centurion, 5th day, December 20, 2009
http://www.cricinfo.com/rsaveng09/content/image/440500.html?object=387551

The whinging poms can't stand the fact that they fell behind in 3 tests. As long as the result says 1-1 they don't care.

1st test:
SA made 719 runs and took 19 wickets.
England made 584 runs and took 17 wickets

3rd test:
SA made 738 runs and took 19 wickets
England made 569 runs and took 17 wickets

But yet they celebrate when they draw. Celebrating when you draw is an indication that their players were excited to escape defeat to superior opposition.

Well, I haven't seen anyone calling this series a "boring draw" yet.
So +1 to Test cricket. :)

Even killa enjoyed it.
