What a performance, bosman better open in the one dayers, who said bosman cannot compete at this level again?
Smith and bosman are just legends together :D

I hope england go close.
Who said he sucked? We were jinxing him so that he'd perform :p

But yeah I'll have to concede that he's earned an ODI spot.

Cannot remember who said it, to lazy to go look it up :D

If he does not get into the one day team i would be shocked.

One thing i cannot understand why did they send in kuhn when he cannot smash the ball? Mclaren and roeloff never got in and both of them can so again i don't get it. Not that it matters but that record would have nice :D.

Bosman is a great 20/20 player but he is not a 50 over international player. In 50 overs you need to be able to build an innings as an opener. Loots can't do this.

So you do not think we can benefit from a quick fire 50 or 60 upfront during the first PP of a 50 over game?

Odd gibbs has been doing that for years yet bosman you say is a 20/20 player so i fail to understand your logic in all honesty.

Mean monster who cares who plays for england, honestly does it make a difference?

I guess there is no harm in using Loots while he is coming off. Long term, unless he evolves to be able to also build an innings they will work out how to get him out. He will then be rendered useless, but until then lets use him as a pinch hitter.

With Morkel and Loots in the team, chasing down big totals should be a breeze.

Gibbs was employed as a pinch hitting opener, and he only came off one out of ten times. Seems like Loots will offer i higher success rate than that.

Going at 19 an over in the Hongkong sixes seems to have rubbed off on Loots.

Because it was his 1st intern game and im sure being in that nice position of already knowing the english will have to chase 10 + / over, would have seen arthur and smith decide to send in Kuhn so he can have a much nicer (relaxed) first batting chance than for instance when SA is 43/5...

I was impressed with Kuhn. Not a bad keeper.

Anyone notice how similar all our newer players look.

Kuhn looks like AB when batting.

Ryan looks like Steyn when bowling.

Ryan also looks like AB when batting.

Morkel and Ryan also share near identical bowling actions. (Morkel does have a little flailing hand problem he needs to get rid of.)

Yea but loots also does not look like that old swing the bat at everything player, he hit the ball when it was there to be hit.

To me he looks like he could an ideal replacement for gibbs in the 50 over game.

Well done to SA yesterday:) Impressive performance by Smith and Bosman :D.

I agree with Killa, Bosman should be given a chance in the ODI side after great performances in both T20s.

If he and Smith can get us to 100-150 in the first 15 overs then it's a great platform. We have Kallis and JP who can build the innings, so we don't need the openers to do that too.

I think they should just let him play his natural game. It may be one of the reasons that he hasn't had much success in ODIs - because there was too much pressure on him to building an innings.
Morkel and Ryan also share near identical blowing actions.
I can't really judge on that, but I'll take your word for it :D

Even if bosman gets a quick 30 or 40, he has done his job and he can let the builders go from there.

As inconsistent as gibbs is , he has always been more consistent than bosman. Their respective records speaks for themselves. Loots isn't some up and coming 19 year old, he has been on the scene for quite some time.

He's only played 11 (?) ODIs though. Gibbs would make a decent score and then go for 11 ODIs scoring 11 runs :D

Definitely not a fair comparison considering the number of matches played by each.

Edit: Wow, Bosman is 32:eek: I thought he was much younger than that .

And who are we dropping? Smith? Kallis? AB? Albie? Duminey? Amla? Mmmm who's place will he be taking?

I would use him in the SA A side. He would have to open and I doubt he is getting the nod ahead of kallis or smith.. I could be wrong however.

I am a bosman fan BUT go look at his 1st class record. It is patchy and yes maybe he does deserve to be pulled up to odi level BUT again who will you drop from the current team?

As much as I'm a fan of Loots, his way of playing is very predictable. When its full, he goes over cover or mid-off. When short, its the pull shot. I watched a lot of Eagles games, and when its pitched back of a length consistantly, he begins to panic and does something stupid.

Amla, although a LOT slower, is a better bet at opening. I'm still not convinced with Kallis opening.
