Well the site is offline ..... now the question is "If the content was SO UNTRUE, why was the site attacked by every politician in South Africa" ?

the site touched a nerve that politics could not control ... if Watson didnt do it - someone else will.

There WILL be another one...

Because he aimed his site at tourists and tried to stop money coming into this country. No self respecting politician (stop laughing :D) should allow that to happen.

He then says his american ISP suspended his account due to SA media pressure. What bollocks, if places like StromFront and child porn (same category) sites can keep going then I am sure he could have kept going.

You know what the biggest joke is though? The people who are still supporting him after he has been caught for lying and defrauding people. I am not saying anything about supporting an anti-crime initiative, just stop trying to defend a blatant lier.

The site was a bit sensationalist. I don'y know what it is with some South Africans. As undoubtedly terrible as crime is in the country, they have a n unrivalled propensity to exaggerate.

Crime expo website: Grindrod lays charge

The Cape Town leader of the Independent Democrats, Simon Grindrod, has called on Crime Expo SA website founder [-]Neil Watson[/-] Juan Uys to explain the situation surrounding the closure of the site.

"Now that I have pressed charges at Caledon Square Police Station, it would save the Commercial Crimes Unit considerable resources if Mr [-]Watson[/-] Uys would come forward and explain what he has done with the money," said Grindrod.

Senior Superintendent Billy Jones has confirmed that a charge of fraud has been laid.

The Crime Expo SA site has been suspended by the service provider for non-payment and is apparently being investigated by an Internet monitoring authority for carrying racist and offensive comments.

Interesting to see that News24 and iol are carrying essentially the same story, with the exception of one paragraph. For some reason iol not reporting this bit:

"The ID has today asked police for an investigation into why monies donated were banked in a private bank account allegedly linked to Gay and Lesbian Alliance founder Juan Uys," Grindrod said.

Damn beaten to it by Chiskop :)

The parts I found interesting where

"Now that I have pressed charges at Caledon Square Police Station

The Commercial Crime Unit agreed to investigate allegations that the Crime Expo SA website solicited money from the public without registering as a Section 21 company.

The site was suspended by the service provider for non-payment and was being investigated by an internet monitoring authority for carrying racist and offensive comments.

Happy to report that this backs up everything that I and many others said about the site...

Could the Crime Expo supporters please now stop worshiping this idiot?
