What screws up my experience is when the cashier is chatting to her mate at the other till ..... 5 rows away ... and I inconvenience her to buy stuff.

Or when she checks if I am human by inquiring - plaaasteeek?

Or when the fellow at the door wants to tape up my bag, although its not really sealed so its really pointless.

Or when there are guys working in the store who really havent a clue about the product they are selling.

Or when I leave I have to show the dude at the exit my till slip because either I am suspected of being corrupt or they dont trust THEIR staff

Thank heavens for online shopping at times :)
And then again, there are times when brick and mortar shops get it right ....

Just hope you don't have to buy a tablet with a sim card, then you'll have to RICA that too... and wait... and wait... oh and then you have to go home to go fetch the right documents.

That's why I like taking my time and do my research online and then shop online, not worth the effort of being treated shabbily.Yes,mine takes longer than even the 16min posted in the article most of the time but somehow feel in control all way before I part with my money AND 100% satisfaction(even from China stores) in the 5 years or more I've been shopping online.

Apart from the in-store effects, the mall I use most regularly (Clearwater), now has those retracting spike strips at the booms. It's only a matter of time before that malfunctions \ breaks down and some legitimate shopper ends up with 4 flats.

I hate this. Cashiers are the most arrogant and rude bunch, always treating you like it's your fault that they have a schitty job and getting in the way of their socialising...

What screws up my experience is when the cashier is chatting to her mate at the other till ..... 5 rows away ... and I inconvenience her to buy stuff. Don’t experience that often.

Or when she checks if I am human by inquiring - plaaasteeek? Yes well do you have a bag or will you buy one. I get my own bags ready and place them on the counter first. Makes it easier and she doesn’t have to ask.

Or when the fellow at the door wants to tape up my bag, although its not really sealed so its really pointless. Because you walk into the shop with an open bag. Tie it close yourself and you won’t have a problem.

Or when there are guys working in the store who really havent a clue about the product they are selling. I do my hw beforehand. Hate salespeople who know too much and try to sell me something. Do you live in a freaking warehouse?

Or when I leave I have to show the dude at the exit my till slip because either I am suspected of being corrupt or they dont trust THEIR staff Just a security measure.

This article is a gross exaggeration and frankly reading MyBB lately leaves me frustrated.

What I do hate is people eating in a mall/shop and people talking to friends/someone they bump into like they own the freaking shop and happily hogging the aisle.

All are terrible one has to interrupt the strike, meeting, daily socialising, sleeping, cell phone chatting and useless people in the shops today.
Edgars has not seen me for years and never will. More piling onto the list.

I buy my expensive gadgets online and have them delivered to a secure place.

Also wish I could do my grocery shopping in the same way. Not possible.
Pick n Pay has grocery delivery. But then I'm wary of me getting stuff thats old, rotten.

I like that "Always make sure you get a till slip" sign you see in smaller stores...it's painless but why must I do your cash control for you?

Not in my area. I am welcome to use "click and collect" only I can't collect at the closest store to me.
I have to drive an hour to collect it.

Oh, makro you have to be a business to buy grocery items. :/
