South Africa has less than half the policemen it should have! Live with it.

South African Police have way too many commissioned officers, and non commissioned officers.

In the old days your local station commander was a Sargent - now he is a high ranking officer.

Paying way to much for over ranked staff, and all their perks.

Does not leave enough to pay for grunts to do the work.

currency depreciation
time wasted
money spent

who will compensate me?

don't just say "why don't you go back home?" that is disgusting. that is the same as you raped a virgin and still asked for "service fees" and taxi fare.

I thought in today's times, that is a given?

Everything else must be given...

Hopefully the rent is being paid, timeously ...
Our office are. The one office we are paying R150k a month for, is standing empty.

1 security guard. 100mb fibre line.
The 18 staff that were working there are now working in other offices doing other work.

Comparing SA police stations to those in much poorer countries in the world:

A local police station:

701895

Police stations in the Republic of Georgia (Eastern Europe):

701897

701899

701903

701905

Fun facts:

* South Africa's GDP is 26 times larger than the GDP of the Republic of Georgia.

* The average salary in the Republic of Georgia is less than half that of SA.

* The Republic of Georgia is a former Soviet Republic. 20 years ago it had among the highest crime rates in the world and among the highest corruption levels. Today it is among the safest countries in the world while levels of corruption are today low.

That is because the govt there has an interest in what they are doing. In SA there is no interest at all. Walk into a govt hospital outside the Western Cape. The staff do their utmost to ignore you. The building is filthy, broken windows. The toilets are disgusting. The hospital management is only interested in what model BMW or Mercedes they can acquire. If you complain, they call a thug masquerading as security and throw you out
