CryptoQR payments roll out to all 1,500 Pick n Pay stores in South Africa

Be that as it may, the way the law stands at the moment, any disposal of crypto is a reportable CGT event. They really should warn anyone making use of this payment method of the potential tax consequences of choosing to pay with crypto.
Lol SARS is not going to jail you for buying a can of coke with some BTC.

As far as I am aware, my debit card charges nothing at pnp anyways, not to mention that some banks would let you earn points like ebucks at checkers using fnb card, maybe it's just me, but I am failing to see an advantage to adapt this bitcoin payment method.
... same reason you would buy things with cash instead of your debit card if you happen to regularly get paid in cash and it never hits your bank account and ... the tax man has no clue that you ever had it

:sneaky:

The day I can deposit cash at a Pick n Pay and receive back BTC in my crypto wallet, I'm in.

Does Pick n Pat still accept bitcoin I have tried to pay at 2 different ones asking for the QR code and it comes back not a valid BTC address.
Or is there something else that is needed?

As far as i remember there was talks of implementing a LN payment system

Naturally best success would be if using a "typo" definitely custodial wallet
