Do you use any cake batter or is it a specific mix.

I do not want to use those box cake mix

MODS: Please correct my spelling mistake in the title. :(

Sorry for that:(

Any cake batter will do.
Those instant Blueberry ones are great btw.

Any cake batter, just don't cook it for as long as a cake. 10-15min is usually fine.

Melt chocolate and cream together and leave to cool for a bit for an awesome topping :D
(chocolate ganache)

I love cupcakes Mila :)

Aesthetically, they are just the prettiest things one can make in the kitchen. It's all in the decoration ...

I use a really simple sponge cake recipe..quick and easy to prepare!

If I'm really lazy then I will use those box things....but the end product never seems to last as long and are really oily the next day :/

oe oe oe

Something I always wanted to try is to bake the cup cake for a little while, then just quickly pop in a piece of chocolate in the middle of it and let it continue baking.... :D

Why not just put the chocolate piece in at the beginning? ....... it doesn't have any adverse effect ;)

well the cupcakes don't last long enough in my house to actually be decorated although i must say the batter is nicer than the actual cupcakes

but then again by the time the cupcakes are finished i have eaten soo much batter i am not in the mood for a cupcake

In general, how long do you keep them as a decoration?

I was saying the decoration of the cupcakes is what makes them so special.

In other words, the icing, the topping, the cream cheese on top, whatever you wanna call it.

Why so slow ? :)
