Cup Cakes

I usually make my moist choc cake recipe and pour batter in cupcake papers. the papers also make a big difference in the final look.

I like to make a very chocolatey butter icing to go on top and decorate it with pieces of crumbled flake and a few astros
 
Thanx for that link!! What great ideas. I have found the bakers den that have a few of the decorations. Does anybody know where else i can find these?
 
Cupcakes are nice but I prefer blueberry muffins.
Got some bananas I'm waiting for to ripen for a banana loaf so I think I will do some blueberry muffins in the mean time.

Some Pick 'n pays have quite a selection.

There is also a shop at Sandton city, next to the macdonalds that has stuff, like edible glitter and all the flowers and butterflys etc.

Not the normal ones. Those i have. But i have seen the most beautifull and delicate flowers butterflies and you know special stuff:o

there are all kinds of easy ideas to try out as well. lemme just go and check and I'll let you know
 
I really like your idea of taking a tray of cupcakes as a gift to the hostess when you visit someone.
 
Tx. I always want to bring something to thank them for their trouble ( Specially the day after when you have to clean up) And wine is a touchy subject, I love a good red, but my friends do not appreciate a good bottle of wine as much. Flowers die. So I decided what a really girly thing a cup cake is!!! And men like puddings too. So that is sorted.

I know bringing gifts is old fashioned but i like that.
 
ok, thought of one cute easy idea:
1. make cupcake, ice (with any icing).
2. break short pieces of flake and place in center of cupcake to form a "nest".
3. gently push into icing so it'll stick.
4. put a dab of icing in center of nest.
5. put some of those small speckled eggs on dab of icing

and there you have a cupcake with an edible nest

you could also use the choc modelling paste recipe and make some custom designs to put on top of cupcake.
 
another idea is to buy some of those mini marshmallows. and cut the marshmallows in smaller circles. dust it with icing sugar so it is not sticky anymore. then you could make a flower of it. decorate the centre marshmallow disk with some 100's and 1000's
 
colour some icing white.

make spider web on top of cupcake. use smartie/jelly tot as a spider. make some black icing and ice legs and eyes for spider

I love how your mind works!!!:D I can cut those tiny marshmallows and make polka dot cup cakes. Sheez you are good! Love the spider idea for Halloween:D
 
lol, thanks. I am actually very creative. If you have something specific in mind, just ask, and I am sure I will come up with an idea for it
