i have had this calculator since 1971. It's in mint condition in tin container and instrucciot manual. I've been offered R3000 to R5000 by a Johanessburg Auction house. Any interested partes please contact and I will send photos and Serial #.

What an amazing little machine that I never knew existed.
My father is a retired accountant and was never without a circular slide rule in his pocket - He's turning 90 next week and would be fascinated by this.
On second thoughts, he probably used one...

Yeah. Also found it very interesting after doing some research. Still don't quite understand how it works, but definitely a collectors item.

I must have watched my old man whip his slide rule out of his top pocket a hundred times to do a quick calculation. I remember once asking him how it worked.
My eyes glazed over after about ten seconds....and I still don't have a cookin' clue how a slide rule works. :laugh:

I still have the one my father used when he worked in a laboratory late 60's-early 70's. Stil with the original protective case and user manual.

Yep, me too. It's plain to see why the humble little electronic pocket calculator took over the world.
A slide rule's batteries never ran flat.......... ;) :ROFL:
And we were allowed to use a slide rule in exams when I was in matric in 1980, but you were not allowed to use an electronic calculator. A slide rule and your trusty logarithm book.
