Cwele to face questions over Zuma's daughter

I've worked in my department for 6 years as a junior staffer, I'd love to wake up next week as manager here but honestly have no experience and so would not even accept that position coz I will most probably be asking around how to do staff. So let's not kid ourselves and say she deserves that post when she has never even supervised anyone let alone manage an office and now she's Chief of Staff! Hogwash!

I agree, asking how to "do staff" is likely to get you in trouble.

I'm still trying to understand how a degree in anthropology covers the qualifications criteria for this role. It just doesn't seem relevant. Man there are some cushy jobs in government: my engineering degree and 18 years work experience are apparently worth less (at least financially) than a degree in anthropology and zero experience. Mind-boggling.

But the fuss seems pointless: we all know why she was appointed and how this will play out. Nothing will happen and it'll all get swept under the carpet eventually. The ANC knows no other way.

The PP will investigate, and conclude that the appointment was irregular.
Then, 1 or more of the following will happen:
- the Ol' Faith will ensure Little Ms Zuma's salary gets doubled, as a result of "the board's recommendation"
- after months of silly responses from the SABC, the SUI will investigate and conclude that they don't have enough information to conclude anything
- some random law firm will clear them all of any wrongdoing

What did I miss?

What's the point? You can say 10000 times it's not because of daddy's name but you & I both know that's the truth of the matter.

In the ANC if Zuma has his pants down you better start puckering up or face the consequences. Even if he doesn't expect the royal ass to be kissed right this moment, one could always pre-empt the showing of loyalty and score some future favor by helping a sister out. You either go along with what the big man wants, or go against him and lose your job/life .. i.e. African democracy.

Nobody's going to openly admit it, but its how they roll.

Unfortunately for ya'll, you didn't swim close enough to the lion's balls.....

Siyabonga Cwele was the minister who didn't even know that his wife was selling / Dealing drugs.
Maybe he didn't KNOW that it was ZUMA's daughter.

Clearly... it's not what you know, but who you know!

Whatever the ministers argument, at 25yr old, she doesn't have the experience required for a senior post... I don't care what qualification she has.

He is the secrecy bill guy... He decided to do it with or without secrecy bill.
