Didn't mention the swift, only its successor the swift 2
But does it mean I'll get a crappy version of android, like touchwiz on Samsung?

Maybe it's time to get the cool looking nougat rom on xda
As this cyanogenmod story is very bad,

Saw a update, strange it come out just as CyanogenMod close its doors.....

Loaded it, just latest security patch, no nougat update

Have Cyanogenmod installed on my nexus2012, works a real treat.

Hopefully the new guys will boldly go forward, taking up where Cyanogen left off.

Lineage OS will be up and running soonish.
But it will be unofficial correct?
If I decide to load it, my warranty support will expire?

Just trying to weigh up the pros and cons,
If the "official" update works great, but if it makes things worse time to go to go the unofficial route.

Keep a backup of your offical rom. If you run into issues you can then flash your officail rom back... Provided you don't trip an e-fuse or something.

Wow, so sad to hear Cyanogen OS was the best Android experience I've ever had. Slightly regret selling my Wileyfox to this day. Will consider getting a Swift 2 when they come down in price and if the future of their software is secure.

Cyanogen OS is not the same thing as Cyanogenmod. Cyanogen has to honour their obligations to companies that have licensed their firmware. That said, it seems like everyone is developing their own OS's now. So perhaps all Cyanogen related stuff is going away.

If LineageOS is pretty much the same thing as Cyanogenmod, and as ubiquitous, then I couldn't care less about a name change.

Sad to hear. The Swift is a good device, still using it for a work phone now.

Yeah I know, well that's life I suppose.
Did get a update on the 29 I think it's the last one for the CyanogenMod.

Plenty of roms available on XDA for this phone,
So if the official wileyfox update sucks, I'll go pirated....
Would hate to lose some of the awesome features like built in Truecaller and Skype.
