So I got a cool email from Cybersmart/Lightspeed, indicating they were doing maintenance on their mains feed. 40 mins after the maintenance ended, my connection went offline.
They fed me two stories:
1) There’s a problem with the switch in your building
2) The fibre infrastructure provider (I assume this is DFA) has not responded to the fault escalation.
Wait, what? DFA manages Cybersmart’s switches? I find that hard to believe. Also, fibre doesn’t spontaneously break in the middle of a Sunday so I’m not sure why an “infrastructure provider” other than Cybersmart is involved here.
Is anyone else affected by this outage? I’m concerned they will wait until Tuesday sometime to fix the issue.
