Cybersmart or Crystal Web on Vumatel Filber in Durbanville

Cybersmart has gone complete %#(@& with there new setup fees (over and above the Vuma fees), pricing them out of the market for me.

Looks like R1999 now, up from R999.

For R999 I got a cheap router and an IP phone which would cost about that much. Not sure why they would add R1000, since they only do the device config and courier.

Well, logic dictates that, if their provider(Vumatel) ups their prices, they will pass it on to the consumer. As their other prices have stayed the same, I don't see the issue.

Then why did no other ISP's increase their subscriptions ?

Just an update, ended up going with Cool Ideas on Vumatel in Durbanville and has been smooth saling.

Also considering either CI or CW for when fibre becomes available in my area...they're busy now. I am on Telkom ADSL currently and rely on the news server quite a bit, does that mean CW is the ONLY choice? I don't see anything mentioned on the CI website.

You can access the IS news server on our network.

Anyone know what the FUP are on Cybersmart's 20mb/2Mb home uncapped for R625 on Vumatel?
Do they shape those home uncapped accounts?
Only FUP I found is the one under the 400Mb fibre one on their site, but think this home uncapped might have a different FUP...
