Cybersmart was first to start what they call "Capsaver". A honest to goodness bargain. No sooner have they started it or they changed it.
With Capsaver on a 384/3G cap contract at R125.00 you had to pay R21.00 extra and you could save up to 15 gigs max.
Recently - last month - they invented another marketing gimick: "The giggy bank". Nice pink pigs and all. The difference savings you get is:
3G Giggy Bank at R21 Max 3gigs
15G Giggy Bank at R39 Max 15G (The original at R21.00)
Unlimited at R59.00
No problem at all. Wait for the catch:*drumroll.....* Downgrading to your standard contract will cost you *drumroll....* R200.00
Nifty marketing I would say.
Now gentleman. What happens if on my R21.00 max gigs I have saved 3Gigs? My total should be 6Gigs at the beginning of the month. Must I still pay the R21.00 whilst I can't save anymore. Or R200.00 to stop paying R21.00 and loose my saved gigs for what I have just paid 63.00 to save?
My problem is:
I very seldom use 3G a month. Your offering for 3 gigs is perfect. If you use 3gigs. Paying to save is a way of live, but you have just changed your edge on your competition in this small usage market into an also ran.
Web Africa's offering at:
R70.00 per gig
No expiry date
No additional payments
No funny configurations
No paperwork, contracts, ID books, Faxes
No pages of conditions
No threats of discontinuance should I use my own e-mail
Immediate connection
24 add-ons with no checking. This is called trust. What can they loose?
Buy as you need, once a month (3, 4 months)
Simple, friendly, straight forward and easy
For some or other reason it just sounds better to me.
Cheers to the techs at Cybersmart.
