Hi there,

I am using the D-Link 504G router and for some or other reason my router is just crashing/hanging and at first I thought it might be the firmware but I did check and I am running the latest firmware as I've got T93.3.44 running. I'm pretty sure its a router problem as I cannot even get into the HTML Router Setup page once my connection dies, I first have to switch the router off then on again in order to reconnect to the internet.

Anyone else ever experience the same problem? And by the way this did not happen with my old Planet Router so I doubt its my ISP

Thanks

If the router is in a book shelf/cupboard/under a stack of old devices, this is probably a heat issue. You need to give this device a quite a bit of ventilation space. I have the D-Link DSL300G and find that I can usually boil an egg on it, even when ventilated.

If it is well ventilated, I suggest you exchange it for another unit, as it is most likely defective.

Well I doubt very much its a heat problem, I am running a fan right next to it, and its still crashing and trust me I felt the router, its ice cold. It seems to be alot worse than before and now D-Link is trying to blame my ISP? I am using two different ISP's and they BOTH worked fine with my Planet Router, maybe I should of kept that poorly supported router instead

Return that one. If it's not overheating, a D-Link should DEFINITELY not do that. Have it exchanged for another unit.
