Hi,

I'm using a Netgear DG834 at the moment in my office. Nice modem, except when things go wrong, then Duxbury requires "Final warning" or else I'll hand you to my attorney before the remember there is something such as a warranty.

I'm considering using a D-Link modem/router for this reason only in a branch office where I'm putting ADSL at the moment.

Does anybody know how the NAT/firewalling of the DSL504G compare to that of the Netgear DG834?

I'm very impressed with the firewalling of the DG834 - just managed to locate a nasty bit of bandwith munching spyware with its reporting system. (The Spyware cleaners we have would not trace it - but I could monitor all port initiations from a specific PC thanks to Netgear).

I use a 504G with NAT, Firewall and IP filters running. Works great. The administration of the IP filters is a bit clunky but it works. Just checked ... been up for 5 days, same IP ADDRESS!

I am ditching my 504 for a DG834 because D-Link support said it didn't support MSN Messenger/netmeeting voice/video.

DG834 seems to be able to ?

Hope I am doing the right thing
