The Democratic Alliance (DA) said on Wednesday that it was taking legal action against a Freedom Front Plus leader and Limpopo legislature member who allegedly used the k-word when referring to a local church.

Marcelle Maritz was captured on video describing the place of worship as the "church without k****rs".

The DA's Beyers Smit and Geoffrey Tshibvumo said they would open a criminal charge against Maritz at a local police station on Thursday.

Where I grew up we had a Lutheran Bakwena and Lutheran Bapedi, I have no idea what would happen if you were to attend at the wrong one, maybe it's something like that.

Nothing here is based on hearsay or any other possible case, where stuff gets made up to drop someone in the schit.

Ignoring the racist utterance, this does seem to be targeted. I see the DA is using this as an opportunity, and their DA Youth is also getting on board.

The FF+ is too small to have her redeployed, discreetly. I believe the word must be outrightly banned because people are still using it loosely in whatever context. Unless there was someone in that room whose dignity was intentionally impaired then there isn’t much to go on… Someone shared the video, but merit and substance have to be established. The DA made quite some Tweets about this…

The lady was stupid, also running low on humour. The atmosphere in that room does seem to be scented with Apartheid.
