I'll admit, i've used it. Usualy when driving.

At least you're man enough to admit it. Do you think it's right to do it though? What do think the consequence will be if one day Shannon drives with you and record you saying something like that?

If an older white person uses it like once off I wouldn't have an issue with it, it was a word in general use in the old days and you can't expect people to change overnight, especially if they're really drunk or pissed off. But when it's said repeatedly or by a younger person I find it offensive.

I don't think it's right. Habit. Obviously don't repeat it..... unless the "offender" keeps pis$ing me off.

Many words you can call the offender, all without risking your livelyhood. All those d words you mentioned earlier comes to mind.

With you on this. I have reprimanded many friends and family doing this when driving. One guy a while back realised I would get upset if he used it instead drove up until the car and then said "ja ek het so gedink". so maybe rietrot has a point of people choosing to use it behind our backs

I also have no idea, unless it's darkey as doubletrouble said, which is not really offensive at all. Just like whitey isn't offensive.

It is this. and it is offensive. maybe the way it is said and used in Cape Town, the connotation shifts
