Nope. I just think it's gross to talk like that and I am not alone.

I used to use "retard" to mean stupid/ridiculous until I worked with someone who takes care of their special needs sibling. Made me realise what a big thing that is and how ignorant it was of me to throw that word around carelessly. That woman has a heart of gold and she sacrifices a lot for love of her family, when I think about how that word could snap her out of a good day or bring her mind back to her struggles it makes me feel bad for using it. I think the millennials are calling that "empathy". I'm not taking offence on behalf of someone else, it's not that deep. I am holding myself to a standard and calling out others who do not.

You are out and proud and that word doesn't hurt you, how would you feel knowing that hearing "fag" bandied about by morons contributed to someone else being fearful to come out? Schit, I hope. That's what I am talking about.

Now, aside from insensitive verbiage I have a potty mouth that would make Gordon Ramsey blush, I just care that my words are not ignorant or hurtful because I am not an idiot.
 
If a word hurts you because it fits you... then maybe the word is not the problem....

Counterpoint: Politicians need to be sensitive to their voters in order to win elections. Hence the phrase "politically correct".

Their goal isn't to be some sort of edgy truth teller. It's to win votes and govern. No political party wants someone who could lose them voters.

The EFF keeps Malema because there are no white EFF voters to scare away. The DA suspended Gouws because there is a large portion of black DA voters he could scare away.
 
Here is the thing over sensitive people don't get (because of their plague consciounces) sometimes people use words considered offensive not to be offensive.... because they don't care how offensive it is. They are not trying to hurt anyone.... because they don't care enough to want to hurt anyone and think anyone being hurt by a word is choosing to be an idiot.... and that's simply not their problem.

These same people think whites are hurt by being called racists so they call them racist... to hurt them. The truth is only liberal whites are hurt that way because they have the delusion that they are superior moral beings to the rest of us, the rest of us either actually are racist so they don't care, or they are fearful because it could cost them their livelyhoods in a black country that pretends to be multiracial, or as in my particular case it right royally pisses them off because they know they are not so it's slander meant to manipulate them into saying things they don't actually believe.

So if I come across as racist.... it's because I am done with all the stupid little games people play and just don't care anymore what idiots think of me so I simply say things as they are instead of being disingenuous to avoid negativity like some pathetic corporate drone that says whatever management tells him to say. The same with alphabet cult, it's fine if you don't like me.... I was not planning on going to your strange parties anyway.

At least I respect people enough to not lie to them for personal gain, whatever it costs me. Love is not enablement or flattery, that's narcissism so you can love yourself better.

That's how it works now yes.... and why SA politics is such an utter disaster. EVERYONE is some kind of populist, no is honest about anything. They are all whores, there is no softer term.

That's the thing with coming out that most people don't get. You come out for yourself. Not for anyone else. So if the world screaming "fag" stops you, stay in there
