I also have some second hand info on how he's changed things at Eskom. At least how he's managing the power station managers and their supplier chain rules. It's not very encouraging and is the cause for the low staff morale. He's treating all the staff as if they're criminals and stifling creative with his rules which leaves the lower level staff not held to account.
That's at least one of the few good things he's doing. There's nobody else to blame for their morale. When they were given creative freedom, they got creative at stealing.

They can have their creativity back when the scumbags are purged and Eskom is free from corruption. They weren't complaining when they were getting above inflation increases, so now it's time to take some pain. Can't have your bread buttered both sides...

Second hand news is called hearsay ...

Your second hand information is from a corrupt employee if anything. Honest and hardworking employees respect what he is trying to achieve. De Ruyter is not stifling creativity… give an example of him doing this?
Nah, my source is from an excellent engineer who actually took a pay cut on return to the country after he got hounded out by Koko. Passionate guy who loves his job, he often sleeps at work that's how dedicated he is. De Ruyter might be a passable manager but he knows little about the workings of a power plant.

As I say the rules don't deter the embedded corrupt.

Koko was the only man at the wheel who knew how drive UCLF to a very low in the last decade. Frankly he was the only Chief who really reduced UCLF by running Eskom with an iron fist. Sorry to hear about your excellent engineer friend but if he got gutted under Koko it means he could not work well under pressure. Trust me there are many “engineers” at Eskom who way too comfortable allowing all types of crap to happen on their systems while they merely just arrive and depart 7 to 4 and play hero doing damage control its all about money nothing else…

De Ruyter might not have the drive of Koko to reduce UCLF to avoid loadshedding but he has other strengths. For one he hits the comrades hard by implementing policy and procedure which is in the interest of the organisation and the country. The current situation is in no way pleasant but he isn’t going to allow his tenure to be seen as a complete and utter failure, all I’m saying is if he is going down he will go down swinging…

FYI one of the reasons Koko got outed was that he refused to sign IPP deals which today is making Eskom sell electricity at a loss while enriching IPP’s like Rainbow Energy …

Interesting take.

Meanwhile back in the real world. Koko has been named as one of the chief enablers of Gupta corruption according to the Zondo report.

Yea bladdy white privilege coming here to take the job of the 27 black CEO's that refused the job before him.. lol
Maybe they should have waited before hiring a white guy until at least 178 blacks CEO's said they didn't want the job? Then maybe the racsits would feel more at ease..
On the other hand make that 1462 rejections, to compensate for EFF, or even better 189173 black guys had to reject the invitation before it became fair giving it to a white guy..

Meanwhile one cannot help feel a bit superior at this clowning around while Eskom is burning. I'd draw Mantashe as the chief clown but that would be whiteface. Oh no, no, no, no, no, nope.

I say fukkit...get rid of DeRuyter and Oberholzer.

Give them their golden handshake....we'll get the  ready and watch the schitshow unfold.

Of course then the excuses that the next guy inherited that schitshow from whitey, will suddenly become valid.

Round and round we go....hahahaha.
