I looked around on google and found this:

1st: If you're using the beta or dev version, try uninstalling it and install the release version at http://www.google.com/chrome
2nd: if you enabled anything in about:flags then disable it (you can type "about:flags" - without the quotes into the Address bar to see a list of expiremental features, such as smooth scrolling, etc. If you haven't messed with this, then don't go in there and touch anything, you would have had to personally messed with stuff in there for it to be different from the default settings)
3rd: disable all extensions
4th: even if you have the stable release version of Google Chrome, try uninstalling it, then re-install it.
5th: uninstall all of your extension, not just disabling them. (this I would probably try last, as you'll have to go back and find all of your extensions to re-install if it doesn't help)

Flip Man, I really appreciate your input/help! :) (Haven't got any response from the thread I started in the appropriate place)

As far as I remember, this is a legit download from chrome, no ext enabled or anything else modified. I am a bit hesitant to uninstall and re install coz of the favs toolbar but if it works then I guess it's a small price to pay :).

Usually, I don't like to restore backups of software if there were problems as the problem just restores itself.

So, I will do what you suggested, thanks again!!

Thanks Grand Past Master

Reinstalling did the trick, unfortunately it was short lived as your thread was displaying correctly with the speed images, then out the blue after I hit refresh it went back to it's usual self.

I guess its back to Firefox for me then :)

I found the issue as Firefox did the same thing! If I am logged into the myBB forum then the images disappear, log out again and it goes back to normal, chrome and firefox. Weird.
