Dashcams can help reduce car insurance premiums - King Price

Poor choice of picture,... you don't even need to think about it to know the Taxi was in the wrong. Any accident involving a minibus taxi it is always the taxi's fault, they are after all a law unto themselves and the rules of the road do not apply to them.

been wondering a lot about it, why do none of the insurance companies offer dash-cam benefits,
sure they offer tracker benefits, discovery does that whole evil spyware thing, but not one insurer says fit a dash-cam and get a benefit.

would love for naked to be the first, as you dont even deal with people when you take out cover with them, you deal with Robots and AI,

Because the risk of it exposing their client as the party in the wrong maybe?

And we do not have the same insurance scams as seen in other countries (at least not involving the insurers directly in regards to injuries), probably due to having the RAF.

possibly,

have heard that insurers pay out and validate claims faster when dashcams prove exactly what happened.

Friend had car insurance with Discovery and said it was an absolute nightmare. Switched to Santam.

Did you see my discovery app story?

Did you see my naked p-remuim rates?
Premiums mean nothing, Santam is the best insurer in the southern hemisphere. I told you the only way to know how good an insurer is the day you claim.

You can pay peanut premiums all you want with Naked but how will the claim process be? that is the most important part.

Would like to get a dashcam for front or back, but there is no ways I would give my insurance access to it.
Dashcams are a requirement for our company insurance. They do not monitor it in any way but should you claim they’ll request the footage. That’s not too intrusive and makes claims easier without he-said-she-said.

No, rather not. Insurers are inclined to use what they can against you when it comes to claims. Anything you use must not tell your insurer anything about your driving.
This.
Also if the thing fails / forget to turn it on and you are in an accident and can't provide footage they will likely reject the claim.

It's why on my home insurance I do not say I have an alarm and armed response (even though I do) as they will reject a claim if the alarm fails in any way.

That sounds intrusive to me, because they will use that footage against you. Unless you have a guarentee that the crash will never be your own fault.

Well if it is my fault then I’d tell them anyway. It’s insurance for accidents. Mine or the other party. Don’t really have an issue admitting my faults.
