You can now buy 2gb for R399 on NEW contracts only.

I am busy dropping the 1gb PSD from my current Mychoice 75 topup and allocating R75 a month to a future unused account and then taking out a new Mychoice 75 topup and adding the 2gb PSD back to this.

It would be much simpler if I can simply be allowed to remove the 1gb PSD and replace it with a 2gb PSD and what have you know , with the NCA I now get told how affordable it must be to be to get a pharken R75 a month contract before I load it with an additional R399 extra.

But yes it sadly comes down to that billion rand billing system that is so smart that it can wipe your nose , its been 2 days now since I bothered to go into Canal Walk Walk-In and I wonder if Deanne Kyle (nice chap) remembers his promise of getting back to me w.r.t this matter.

Then again if 1/2 the people who could clear up this "problem" was not on leave then I suppose I would not be in the situation (yet I am the customer and must put up with this crap)

Then end result for me is that for R50 less on my data bill I get an additional gig for the lifespan of the new contract.

Alas no feedback as yet and I was promised so nicely that in 24 hours I would know whats cutting, I don't know why I bother honestly in going to negotiate in person.
Does MTN does business or do they hire employees to pass the buck all the time.

It saddens me that I was not surprised at all to read this.

Have you considered getting a Vodacom prepaid SIM and adding a 2GB bundle for R389?

Thats exactly what I did but I have had endless trouble with Vodacom, i can never connect the speeds are soooooo slow, its alsmost worth putting up with the crap from MTN for the faster speeds connects etc.

I went with the VC prepaid SIM 2G at R389 and its working just fine, but not at HSDPA speeds - The VC rep on 'MyADSL' forum is looking into why I cant connect at higher speeds - only getting 366 DL and 58 UL.

I would have remained with MTN on for this, but they could not confirm that the 'special' 2G at R399 was still available - I got HSPDA speed with MTN.

got my 2nd mychoice 75 topup with E220 usb modem (did'nt pay for sim card and did'nt pay for usb modem) and also ended up taking that E90 on my dad's procall 120 contract (we did'nt take a phone when porting in from Italk to MTNSP since they (MTN) had no N95's , N73's or anything decent at the time of the port in to them.

had to pay in the R2200 on the E90 but at least I got a decent phone to operate with , trialling it currently , works well for what I need (as luck would have it , no manager wanted to negotiate a smaller pay-in for me despite loyalty from 1998 to present day but to cut the long story short I wanted the phone and I finally got it although I had knowledge of it from last year already and requested to be put on back-order since then)

1st mychoice topup has 1gb psd bundle removed , new mychoice topup has 1gb bundle loaded and the "billing" system should pickup the 2gb promo for R399 and adjust it accordingly.

I discussed this at length with MTN Walk-In staff and they confirmed its R399 for 24 months , I would'nt be surprised if this ruling changes but for now I got 1 contract with no data bundle that is still a year to expiry and a new one that I got an active internet connection with now.
