Data Sharing with a Cell Phone Contract [ERROR, Please Fix]

So I've noticed the following.. since I added the data sharing option on to my cellphone contract (usual handset contract with data), I can no longer 'see' my data available on my phone. I suspect that its due to the data sharing option which i turned on albeit I have not added any number to it and predominantly use Afrihost data.

Can someone from MTN please confirm and perhaps fix this issue? Presently I have logged a ticket with MTN support and for the last 3 months nothing has happen. So every month (last 3), on the 20th I get an SMS saying data was added to my account including bonus data but my account shows 0MB available. I've noticed today that when I login via MTN self service it shows the data available i.e. 765MB (300MB x2/max carry over + bonus 165MB/20 days) present but doing a *162*1# option 1 (All bundles) query it will show 0MB.

Not sure if, when using the internet APN, it will charge me OOB prices or will deduce from the data sharing bucket into which all data appears to be going.

hi

Have you tried using *141# or *141*1# and then selecting the option for data balance?

Yah shows there but contract customers use *162*1# or *162*PIN*1# option 1

Not sure why *141# works these day, few yrs ago was told needed to use the 162 one

Likewise, I use 141 - been on MTN for the good part of 9 years now. (Contract)

No silly, I've switched to MTN since end of 2009 or early 2010.

Anyway not sure what *162# is. Will change to *141#

Oh my bad. I read it as a question and not a statement due to the question mark at the end.

*162# - methinks its a SP specific service...limited to MTNSP clients only ??...and that is how I keep track of my billing...
*141# - MTN Network service...-available to all...

Yip MTNSP use to be separate from MTN. I think they now the same thing now hence 141 working for me.

Probably went the Voda way where Sp's were bought over by operator. Always did find it odd that contract was with MTNSP albeit it was MTN
