Who is really going to retire after 65 anyway? Except for some debilitating illness, I'm not going to stop working until I'm forced by necessity. The retire at 65 concepts is completely archaic anyway. These days you have to work so hard for your success, why pack it all up just because you hit a certain age?

Your roles may change as you get older, you are probably not going to be doing what you did at 25 when you are 65 but that is OK, don't stop working though.

I think early retirement seems like a good goal for some until they actually do it and find out all you become is a wealthy unemployed person.

The problem is some companies and their BS policies of making you agree to retire at a certain age. Check your employment contract.

Sure they can do that, may take that as a chance to start your own business then. even then you don't have to completely stop working.
