Data Throughput issue suspected: Sandringham Johannesburg - New R212

I have a client that has just gone onto a new Vodacom Data package, with the Vodafone R212 WiFi Router. Sandringham Johannesburg. Data coverage is good, speeds are very fast. However, on his laptop or desktop computer connected to the router, the WiFi signal frequently shows no internet - yellow exclamation mark. Whatever you are busy doing on the web gets interrupted. It resolves itself. I have reported the problem to Customer Care, Ref no. S3-07L21-1BQ8S. Client cannot wait though, needs to run a business on the net and will cancel his contract within days. I suspect latency, bandwidth, congestion - any assistance please?

My client lost patience with Vodacom and cancelled his contract. I have heard similar complaints from other users with the R212, and a google search seems to confirm this. I suspect the R212 is too new to have been tried and tested yet, I will not be advising my clients looking for a data package to take any package with the R212.

I bought a R212 modem to replace my R205 modem as I needed a WPS button which is not available on the R205. What a mistake! The R205 runs for months on end without ever disconnecting, but the R212 disconnects a number of times every day. Even its charging routine is erratic, sometimes allowing the charge to get so low that it actually switches off. After trying all the settings, I have arrived at the conclusion that the R212 is simply junk. I'm going to take it back to Vodacom as soon as I feel strong enough for an argument. Past experience tells me that they won't do a thing about it.
