Data usage sms on Vodacom prepaid

Hi

I'm currently using Vodacom prepaid and buy a monthly data bundle. The problem is that I don't receive any sms notification when my data is about to run out. After the data runs out, it automatically use airtime for data (OOB rates) and depletes my airtime within hours, me being unaware.

Is there a way to activate the data notifications sms, and prevent data being used after the data bundle is depleted.

The call center is unable to help me. Their response:

- Sir, it is not us (Vodacom) that sends you the sms, it is send from an "automated machine". Some people receive it, some people don't. We can not help you.......

Is the prepaid sim just for data or phone calls also?

Hi, i am new in this forum, i use an app called Internet Speed Meter lite, you can follow per day and per month your consumption of data s for wifi and Mobile. You can also put a data usage limit and it will show the monthly data usage in notification.
