Hi guys, I've noticed that early morning, starting at round about 5/6 am up until 5/6pm I get 22kb/s (20kb/s average) on my 512k package, local sites load like a dream even during that download going, international is slower, but doesnt cut into the download speed. However, between 5/6pm and 5/6 am, my download drops to a solid 9kb/s and browsing international cuts deeply into the download speed, even times out. This includes local.

Anyone else?

Hell, my gran on a scooter with a memory stick is faster than Sentech's MyWireless!

Here is some sad news, i just worked out.

1. Sentech peer with MTNNS and IS

2. Comapanies like Storm, Tisclai, Saix, Ect do not peer into IS or MTNNS but Jinx for there local traffic, and if anyone knows the state of Jinx then there you have you answer on the Local banwidth issues ?

I am trying to locate Sentech outward path internationaly ? any ideas

Dean, you should say 'International Speeds are around 7 AND 15k'.. Depends whether the file is cached or not.

Sometimes on tracert you only get IP without names, then you can do a reverse DNS lookup on www.dnsstuff.com (or wherever) to try and guess whats going on. The two checks I did previously also went through IS to either NewYork or Paris. (But maybe you already knew)

(edit: WHOIS even better.)

Maybe they dont want us to use that bandwidth, cause then their downloads on the intl sites will be slow from the office?

- Where did I read all those months ago about a 40M pipe to the UK?

I am on 128kb package and on average get about 3-6kb on int BitTorrent during 6pm - 12am. In the mornings at about 5am - 7:30 am it sits at about 10-15kb and spikes to 20kb...

Local cruises at about 119 - 122 Kbs which irrespective of time....

I have a theory that sentech are probably allowing people to cancel their contracts to lessen the load off the sentech network. Cuz I dont think many people out there are gonna get sentech after all their crap

Dean.. I think its unfair to include you products in a signature. By all means link to your site if its useful to forumites etc. Please edit it out or one of us will. Its not fair to others also providing similar services. Even though I do understand.. still - we must keep things clean. Been over this b4.
