I've seen DC fridges, TVs and lights in a small off grid installation, but there's a reason we use AC instead of DC - easy to step up and down voltage fairly efficiently so you can have very low current and therefore thin inexpensive wires. Moving 3kWp at 48V is 62.5A, which means very thick wires...
