De Ruyter hired bodyguards following threats to "moer" him

Eskom CEO André de Ruyter has told Sunday newspaper Rapport he had to hire bodyguards following numerous threats on social media over load-shedding.

In response to one of the threats, De Ruyter opened a criminal case of intimidation against EFF Kwa-Zulu Natal leader Vusi Khoza after he encouraged people to hunt the "useless fools" at Eskom and "moer" and "bliksem" them.

"This thing of load-shedding and Eskom will only stop when we stand up," he stated.

Back on OT, I heard this being discussed on radio, but they didn't name the key politician, neither the associated party. I guess this is out now.

Death threats have been made against various members at Eskom.

I am curious whether the EFF will respond, and how they will respond?

“This thing of load-shedding and Eskom will only stop when we stand up,” he stated.

and then...

"Pursuant to the attached Order of the High Court, I wish to state that I do not condone acts of intimidation and threats, as listed in paragraph 2.1 of this order, directed at employees of Applicant 1 and to Applicant 2."

The latter was definitely posted in his own words. :X3:

Whether threatened with a klap or not, I can't imagine anyone in his position, or any of the other elite, to live their life in Afrika without permanent security.

What does this comment even mean. What's your point.
Pity you are not close to me, all need is to be moered, good and proper, then everything would be very clear.

He needs body guards... not cos someone tweeted something at him, but those cadre and tenderer folks who are angry he's shutting down their looting, and sabotaging generation to force his recall/resignation, the longer he sticks around, the closer he is to ending up like one of the kzn anc mps, mah random car accident at 2am with no other cars on the road

So now we gonna steal or loot each other?

They should hire him 250 bodyguards, show them who really deserves protection not just for inflated ego like the ANC politicians..

Who cares, it's your tax money not mine, give him 500 bodyguards.

I know history is a western colonial concept and super anti-African but please remember every prior encounter where one side started to moer the other side. It never ended up well for YOUR side. The only victory YOUR side ever achieved came in the form of a hand over and not outright winning a war.

The best for everyone would be that no one moer anyone but if any moering do occur I am happy to be on my side of history , how about you ?
