Simply because people want the choice of always on internet, well, that is my reason.

You are paid for unshaped data, not 10GBs worth, not 20, nor 30, but more.

I need to work, I need to send out invoices.
I have even gotten more than a few of my clients to call you their ISP.

Throttling uncapped accounts to a crawl is one thing.

Throttling a capped account to such an extent that mybb does not load is a sewerage farm.

When will your repairs/plans work to ensure that this cest pool clears up?

Are you sure you are being throttled? Isn't it an exchange problem? Also had major issues where I got crappy download and upload speeds but turned out to be a problem at the exchange.

I am sure he is I have a 50GB bundle, the line never runs more than half speed during the day in fact around 3-4pm its almost a quarter line speed if I am lucky. It does not happen with Openweb Bundles.

I should add that Speedtest also only shows half speed with Afrihost at that time, change to a IS account and it full speed.

Afrihost is dismal for some reason in the western cape. The odd thing is: I still get full speed on nntp, I just cant seem to watch a damn youtube video or play a game.

Tested login details at another person's place, on same exchange

Their non-AH account works well. My login details falls over before google's search page has loaded.

Even before that... I did ask Telkom to reset ports etc.

Also the other person's account works well on my line.


This has been getting worse over the last while. On Thursday a 10meg line only synced at 2meg, and continued its downward spiral.

1st mistake.... Nevermind forget it.

2nd. 50GB does not last the month.


3rd. Line normally syncs at full speed, IE 10meg.

All I ask is that they provide me with the quality of service I pay for.


Then on a further note - should I bill AH for the time their poor service is costing me? There have been many calls "my internet is not working".
I am then forced to go test the clients' lines to make sure it is not their equipment nor their line.

Haven't tried any downloads though, but certainly no HTTP issues.

Now I am getting concerned.... Maybe I should test another account on my line. I have been struggling for a while with high latency and slow downloads. usually my wife could facebook without even disturbing me but now if she just opens a web page I slow down to a crawl.

I tried logging into mybb on my mobile, via wifi. It takes so long to load pages, that the login process times out. AND that it with image downloads turned off....

I feel your pain though. Last year around this time I had exactly the same issues. 011743 exhange. Even went as far as hellopeter but nothing helped. Eventually the problem kind of just went away...

Yes, hence the word "linked" For me though if another ISP account works fine, 1 + 1 = 2, and there is obviously something dodgy with the upstream AH connection... So agree with you.

Im also in Randburg area and had issues with my AH business uncapped account this morning.
Microsoft dev sites and a few other sites just struggled to open up
Neighbour with another isp had no issues.

Speeds are only marginally better. If last night was an example of tonight, then speeds won't improve.
