Sorry guys i just wanted to know if the Sahara 31LMN19BS1A (19" LCD Monitor) is a decent buy for gaming and movies and stuff, its priced very well at R1880, which is within the price range of most 17" LCDs. Maybe one of your guys have one and know something about it. If not what monitor for under R2000 (note: it has to be a flatscreen type :) ) thanks guys :D

Sahara is a fairly good make, and surely the screen won't be too bad. Is it on special? My Acer 17" LCD cost me R1900.

Got a Sony 17" a month ago for around R1800 I think, can't remember the exact price, seems to be really good, but smaller obviously. Also got a 19" Acer LCD for R1995 more recently but haven't tried it with gaming or movies.

Well, when we look at gaming (LCD) monitors, we usually look at the response time. ;)

Anything under a response time of 12ms is good enough. However the lower, the better, I think the fastest you get is a 2ms response time

I've got a 5ms LCD and its working great, so 8ms for your screen is perfect

Got the samsung 19inch LCD wit 2ms response time :)
was R2300

but ya the problem with response times is different makes record the response times differently e.g grey to grey, black to black.... so if its a unknown brand... make sure first :)

Jeez just discovered my dad got me a 19" Philips LCD with built in speakers and USB when he was in Singapore, he has it in Mauritius (where he is working) . He was too lazy to carry it back to SA when he came on holiday! Just checked the local price R3200, but he got it there for R1500  ! Awesome!
