Hi all, I'm in the South of JHB in a Vumatel / OpenServe area. I've been on Cool Ideas since I first got fibre, and my 100/100 connection has been super stable and the service from Cool Ideas has been fantastic. I've never had a peep out of them in connection with downloading too much, torrenting, nothing.

I saw recently the 100/100 on my local Vumatel fibre has been doubled to 200/200, and I've decided to splash out on a Gigabit router to be able to take advantage of more than 100/100, and I'm wondering if I can improve my speeds without paying more than the R1200 I'm paying now.

I see WebAfrica has a R1200 package thats 1000/200, but I see a lot of people complaining about WebAfrica's service levels.

So really I'd like to know from anyone who's switched to a faster, cheaper package on Vumatel infrastructure whether the line quality and speeds have been acceptable since the switch, and if there are any ISPs that offer good service at a better price than the R1200 I'm paying each month, and that will also leave me alone to just do whatever I want as much as Cool Ideas have done in the past.

Thanks!!

Our 500Mbps package on Vumatel is R1149 vs R1099 for the 200Mbps btw.

The thing with a 500+mb connection is that you still need a fairly decent CPU to actually take full advantage of that download speed.

That's something not many people realize
