Degrading Telkom LTE Uncapped speeds

Tonight's been fine now.

Seems Mondays are an issue; I'll keep an eye out...

Not good. Swapping over to my old ADSL account line now.

No change for me either, pings going up to 500ms. I noticed that the signal jumps between 3 and 5 bars constantly where previously (before Feb 2015) it was a solid 5 bars all day, everyday with speeds never dropping below 30Mbps and pings never exceeding 30ms.

Can someone at Telkom please tell us what is going on????

So Telkom has been to my house twice since the 18 March. All they do is take speedtests and the issue is not being resolved. The technician yesterday plugged in his own lte dongle into his laptop and connected to the Telkom network. He tried to go to the speedtest site and it would not load. Then a couple of minutes later he got 0.05mb ("Welcome to my world" I told him). My patience is now running out. Its been almost a month and sill have shocking speeds. Has anyone been able to cancel without penalties due to poor network performance?

Nope. i cut my ties and walked away also north riding area, i did not have the energy to fight with telkom anymore

My LTE has gone to absolute dirt since Jan/Feb. Also in this area.
Tech came out today, said its def a tower issue but they require more people in the area to complain in order for the case to hold more strength to repair! can you believe that?! we are expected to pay for a product that does not deliver till everyone is having the same problem!

I always have FULL signal bars, always 4, but have never reached anything above 10Mbs.

I am having the exact same problem! same area! 4 signal bars, max 5mbps down, less than 1mbps up.
Has the Tech been out to your as yet?

I got my LTE Uncapped package two days ago. Dreaming of 40Mbps+ !!

- Tested it that night 23h30 - 22Mbps - Not what I wanted but still Ecstatic!! - Viva LTE - Hey ???
- Same thing in the morning, watched some 4k YouTube vids on my Samsung TV while eating my cornflakes - Delicious! (The LTE)
- Then the evening test came. After work. 17h30 - Disaster, between 1-2 Mbps. Can't even watch 480p vids without major buffering.

THANK GOD FOR THE 7 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD.
Back to Telkom ADSL (10Mbps) and VOX Fatpipe data.

Best to rather dream of VDSL or FTTH
LTE is like a wet dream - Predominantly a wonderful and lekke experience, but the inevitable rude awakening is coming for you !

I'm having issues with my SINR rating fluctuating between 23-13. When I first set this up it was stable at around 23. Rest of my stats are great, anyone know what could be causing this?

Hitting close to 50mbps now

Hitting just over 70Mbps right now.

Saturdays are not typically an issue my side: things start slipping from Sunday night; and Monday/Tuesday nights my ADSL usually outperforms LTE; with occasions on those days on-peak when LTE is completely unusable.

I'm pretty sure it's entirely dependant on how many people are using it at the same time: Mondays after work seems to be highest use/congestion in my testing.

There's not supposed to be cell breathing on an LTE network.

I think what people need to understand is that Telkom's LTE service (probably like any wireless service) will work great sometimes, OK sometimes, and not at all sometimes.


It's also worth mentioning that for most of us on this service since last year had zero issues until February.
