Degradation... Eish
I have noticed that it tends to get better from 21:30 for me but that could just mean that the kiddie who's killing my tower has been sent to bed but who knows..

Trying to sort out anything Telkom related is like arguing with a blompot in your garden, at least the blompot looks nice..
So is anything actually being done about these degrading night speeds???
Telkom is very quiet about this. Is there a fix? Call them? This is crazy!
Maybe why 1800MHZ has been LTE enabled - I highly doubt they will publicly admit there is a peak issue though
What's the difference between the 1800MHz vs the 2300 we on now?
Signal should have further range. Above is for 900Mhz vs 1800Mhz but the concept is still the same. With a lower frequency spectrum, you can either get longer coverage range or better coverage on buildings.
Now, the reason part: When an antenna radiates electromagnetic frequencies, it's power at a point reduces as per inverse square law. Simply put the power reduces faster and faster as you go farther and farther.
Now, this reduction is also dependent on the frequencies. The lower frequencies lose power less faster.
So, if an 1800MHz tower can cover about 6km in a sparsely built area, a tower with 900MHz can cover about 9-10km.
Or, the power within a densely populated/built area is reasonably good with a 900 band frequency than with an 1800 band frequency.
Guess, with this inherent property of lower frequencies, it's obvious why companies are ready to pay more for 900 band vs. 1800 band.
Disclaimer: Number are approximate with respect to actuals and ratios. Will try to check and update soon.

Hi,
Just want to ask a quick question. We are already on the 20+20GB LTE package, and we are considering moving to the uncapped one...
Right now, we haven't noticed any degrading of speeds, but then again, we only really get online after the kids are in bed, so we might just be missing the peak...
Has anybody moved from capped to uncapped and THEN noticed a huge difference? Just worried that they might change something on our connection when we move, that might trigger these issues...
Although I did notice that people with both capped and uncapped is struggling, so I'm hoping we will miss it...

Just had a look at My Telkom and saw they have permanently capped me at 4 Mbps and after 100Gb they will throttle me to just 128 kbps.I thought we were getting LTE here,my 100Gb+100Gb package gives me roughly 38 Mbps speed.
