Run on my handset PC shutdown already as it's useless to man or beast with this connection. Will run some on PC tomorrow and post the results.

I'm in PMBurg by the way.

Pings are fine for me (Centurion) but the speed is crap. Dont get more than 4meg download. Upload is between 10-20.

Edit: I should probably say I haven't plugged that external antenna in. I should probably try that lol :whistling:

That's strange. I see you in Eco Park Estate, I'm in Eco Park Estate also and getting reasonable speeds. Averaging between 20-30Mbps during peak times. I'm only using the bunny antenna's. Pings are also fine for me.

19:15 my speeds where 39ms ping, 49Mbps down and 7Mbps up
19:20 my speeds where 211ms ping, 3Mbps down and 7Mbps up

Telkom is definitely doing something from 7pm (roughly). Every night, its the same deal, from 7pm, speeds go for a ball of poo.

No ways are the towers getting "saturated" at roughly the same time each night. I bought this to stream and its pretty bad during the time we actually want to stream.

Glad I got to this thread. Im extremely frustrated atm.

Im situated in Faerie Glen Pretoria, same crap here.

Got my uncapped LTE contract activated yesterday. Speeds were awesome untill around 19:00. Could barely get 1mb/s dowload speeds. Around 23:00 Im getting awesome speeds again. I tested the service again tonight... Exactly the same thing!

My thought was congestion on the towers, but other members seem to think different. I believe one has 7 days to cancel your contract, should you wish. Think thats where Im heading... I supposedly have telkom fiber in my area - will jist have to sign up and wait the wait to haven it installed. Also a pity Telkom fiber is so damn expensive, but, what do you do?!

The other big issue is that Telkom is marketing the product to be lightning fast and for streaming multi media, especially video services. Not true...

People are wasting their money, paying for a service thats not delivering.

I was thinking the same. Congestion for me usually starts random times like 6pm the 5pm then 6:30pm but from 7pm it's degraded badly.

So I also think is doing something but when I put a prepaid sim in the router I get the same result and when I put another prepaid simcard in my spare b593 I also get the same result so Telkom is not doing it simcard side or account side must be on the tower or network but why would they do that to affect even capped and prepaid simcards?

Intentionally degrade it for prepaid, capped lte and uncapped lte tower or network side. Not sure. For me R599 is still a steal and won't cancel it even if it does not work between 5pm and 10pm because for me the rest of the time it's 80Mbps+

You are the reason people like Telkom get away with things. This isn't acceptable, even if you were paying R1. Its advertised as a streaming service and if the service degrades during the actual time you would want to do streaming, they need to shape up or ship out, we should not accept this. Pity Telkom is just hiding behind their "best effort" service ***.

After changing the modem to only connect to the 2300 band I have got a huge improvement.
Still too much effort to plug the antenna in... lol

Same here. I have one tower that gives me 20-30 constant but was switched to a tower with 5-10.
No moving the router would help, but once I switched to 2300 the power tower is back and I am happy.

BTW I am using the bunny ears due to lack of sight.
