The band change has made a massive improvement yesterday till 6:45pm my ping on csgo was 18ms and at 9:20pm it was 36ms. I know im not zoned into an LTE-A zone in Pierre van Ryneveld (Centurion) but whatever band the router is connecting to on the toolboxes "LTE-Advanced" is working. Thanks again guys.

We live in the same area then. i'm in 33rd Ave, Station in 31st ave if i'm not mistaken. Telkom has luckily at long last admitted to the problem, so lets see what comes form this.
I'm in 31st. The tower on Oos-moot's rugby fields (32nd Ave) is Vodacom. The tower on the school grounds (also 32nd ave) opposite the church is MTN. The Telkom tower is by the exchange opposite Waverley Slaghuis in Codonia. They also told me yesterday they are aware of the issue and busy attending to it. When they will fix the issue, no one knows.

There is a tower between Nico Smith and Terblance in 31st Ave, unless Telkoms map is outdated.
Have a look

Edit, I assume you are higher up as you mentioned Waverley slaghuis, Then there should be one in 32nd Ave according to the coverage map, So that Vodacom or MTN one is also a Telkom toring.

Used the toolbox, switched to LTE-Advanced now get 32mbit down 9.5mbit up and 28 ping. Interesting thing is that speed seems almost capped at 32 and it sits pushing 33 constant in the speedtest.net test looking like it has alot more gas but not crossing past that point. eish. I would get 40 - 50 a week ago. Half a km, line of sight from the tower, regular antennas not external. East London. Any ideas if this could be the case of being throttled at that speed? I dont think LTE- A is supported on our towers.

My fastest ever upload speeds. Never broke 8mbit and now closer to 10mbit with the LTE-A setting. Pings are stable, but 10 tests and all download speeds between 31 and 33 almost pinpoint, like its being throttled from going higher, but pushing the 33 without "breaking a sweat".

2300Mhz
RSRP: -53dBm (currently, this changes drastically every day never less than -50 but all the way up to -93 from what I have seen)
SINR:39dB (also changes a lot between 10-45)

Browsing is so snappy and streaming twitch tv now with no buffering where before I could not do it at all.

Latency lekker low on all the hops. I can play games and stream at the same time with and it works great again. Perfect. The product from 2 months ago is back. Wow love it. :D :)

So I now get this:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/5496494064.png

The really weird thing is that my daughters are each streaming something in HD on the two tablets. The caveat is that they don't stream through the LTE, but using the simcards in the tablets. Telkom Sim cards!!

How is it that the tablets can stream in full HD on the Telkom network, but my LTE uncapped don't even get 512kbps?? The iPad says it's connecting using LTE. My Lumia2520 does have LTE, but not the Telkom bands.

Do a trace route quickly to see where the latency is high. If it is the 2 to 3rd hop then it is the tower that is congested if not then it is a backhaul link that is congested.

It's the tower....

Code:
Tracing route to bing.com [204.79.197.200]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1 10 ms 8 ms 8 ms homerouter.cpe [192.168.1.1]
  2 * * * Request timed out.
  3 159 ms 78 ms 75 ms 172.17.1.13
  4 182 ms 89 ms 80 ms 192.168.102.3
  5 123 ms 93 ms 106 ms 172.17.1.17
  6 116 ms 85 ms 107 ms 172.16.1.205
  7 110 ms * 79 ms 8ta-150-190-02.telkomadsl.co.za [41.150.190.2]
  8 * * * Request timed out.
  9 * * * Request timed out.
 10 * * * Request timed out.
 11 * * * Request timed out.
 12 * * * Request timed out.
 13 * * * Request timed out.
 14 * * * Request timed out.
 15 * * * Request timed out.

Think I'm going to reposition my antennae tomorrow. Rather point it to the Telkom tower than the MTN tower. Last time I asked, my neighbor don't have these issues. His connection is flying. Only problem is that I have to raise my antennae because my carport is blocking signal from the Telkom tower.

Edit: Tried the Toolbox thing, but I have the Huawei B593-601, so the toolbox don't work for me.
(System.IO.FileNotFoundException: ) Who still code in VB? :D

Yeah the 172. ip's are the tower side and it's congested a bit :( Sorry.

Try and see if you can switch between 1800MHz and 2300MHz to see if it improves for you or if you can connect to another tower if available.

Streaming netflix fine via chromecast on two tvs. But speeds down 4mbps and ping 580ms? Crazy product.

Got the Huawei B593, and the Toolbox thingy doesn't seem to work on my router. So not sure where to change this, because there is no such option on the router's admin pages.

Ohh yeah the B593 does not support the toolbox app. Works well with the B315.
