Delivery bikes wreak havoc on South African roads

Some fast food and grocery delivery drivers in South Africa could be unlicensed, and the pressure of the job can lead them to take chances on the roads, endangering their lives and the lives of others.

Speaking to 702, Motorcycle Safety Institute of South Africa founder Hein Jonker raised concerns over the training delivery riders receive and whether some are legally licensed to ride in the country.

I hardly see them in the early mornings, most of them have no headlights. Idiots

They are a f$cking menace.
Riding on the pedestrian pavements, jumping around between cars, failing to stop at STOP or red light.
Unroadworthy bikes (no headlights is the biggest one).
Two people on a 50CC. One of them normally with no helmet.

They need to be banned.

What is true? Are they a nuisance, yes. Do they cause havoc. Barely.
I've seen many, many accidents with them. Also seen them go against traffic, go the wrong way around circles, drive on the pavement, cut directly across main roads, jump red robots, make sudden turns/stops etc.

Not all of them of course, but enough of them to agree they cause havoc.
